The newest addition to the Ignite client family just launched – we’re extending a very warm welcome to the Morning Brew affiliate program!
Morning Brew is the ultimate daily newsletter created for young professionals and millennials. Founded in 2015 by University of Michigan alums, Alex Liberman and Austin Rief, the newsletter has grown to have over 1 million subscribers. Their daily newsletters cover everything from Wall Street to Silicon Valley, short briefs on important news happenings, and a small lifestyle section. The newsletter’s audience was originally more college-focused while its founders were in undergrad, but the average reader has evolved and is now 28, working in finance, tech, or consulting. During 2018 Morning Brew had rapid growth, increasing its audience from 170,000 to 700,000 in 10 months. Co-founder, Alex Rief, said this growth is partially due to simple word of mouth in addition to cross-promotional partnerships with other newsletters with similar audiences. The brand also saw success with their referral program, reporting over 50,000 Morning Brew subscribers referred at least three additional subscribers. However, this rapid growth hasn’t diluted the quality of Morning Brew’s audience. According to Mailchimp data, the newsletter has an open rate of about 40%, which is reportedly high for a media newsletter.
The Ignite Team was pumped to launch the Morning Brew affiliate program. Account Manager, Jen Sherman and Account Coordinator Emily Okrzesik are taking charge and looking forward to scaling the program. Jen and Emily plan to kick the program off by focusing primarily on new signups, a tactic Ignite is very familiar with given current clients such as Paribus and Acorns. The team will continuously optimize for quality metrics that are determined post-signup, as well as continue working on cross-promotional collaborations.
